5 December 2023 marks the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Police in Latvia. 1st Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Police, Major General Dariusz Augustyniak, took part in the festive celebrations of this event.

The 91st General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization - INTERPOL was held in Austria from 28 November to 1 December 2023. The Polish Police was represented at this annual event by the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Police, general Jarosław Szymczyk.

On 16 November 2022, Mr Igor Bondarenko - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in charge of the National Central Forensic Institute of Ukraine - met at the National Police Headquarters with Deputy Commander in Chief of the Polish Police, Major General Paweł Dobrodziej.

It was not by chance that Commander-in-Chief of the Police, general Jarosław Szymczyk, decided to hold the central celebrations of Police Day this year in the capital of the Silesian Province, Katowice. The reason behind this is that 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the return of part of Upper Silesia to Poland and the establishment of the autonomous Silesian Province, whose security was guarded by the Silesian Province Police until the outbreak of the Second World War. That is why today, from early morning, police officers representing all garrisons and formations in the country gathered at Slawik and Antall Square in Katowice.

Mr. Donald Alway, FBI Assistant Director, responsible at the same time for the operations of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, was a guest of the meeting organized on March 31, 2022 at the National Police Headquarters in Warsaw. This event marks yet another step on the road to broader and closer cooperation between the Polish Police and the FBI.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Police hosted a meeting with representatives of the Estonian Police and Border Guard. The background of the meeting was the situation on the eastern border of Poland and the war in Ukraine, with a view to intensify and develop Polish-Estonian police cooperation.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Police, Major General Paweł Dobrodziej hosted a meeting with Mr Craig Jones – Director of Cybercrime at Interpol. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the Polish Police and INTERPOL in combating cyber threats.

The issue of cybercrime was the main objective of the visit of a delegation of the Polish Police to the United States and Canada. The delegation, headed by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Police Major General Pawel Dobrodziej, established new and strengthened existing ties of cooperation with American and Canadian centres for combating cybercrime.

Strengthening bilateral police cooperation and new challenges for law enforcement agencies in the face of threats in the digital world - these were the key topics of the talks between Commander-in-Chief of the Police, General Jarosław Szymczyk and representatives of Italian police forces. The Chief of Polish Police also decorated Italian officers and representatives of the Polish diplomatic corps in Italy with Medals for Meritorious Service to the Police for their involvement and cooperation.

For the first time in history, the Polish Police will have an official representation in the United States of America. On October 7, 2021 at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C., Commander-in-Chief of the Police, General Jarosław Szymczyk, officially introduced the new Polish Police Liaison Officer to the United States.

On September 24 - 26, 2021 a delegation of the National Police Headquarters headed by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Maj. Gen. Roman Kuster, visited Lithuanian town of Šiauliai as part of the official celebration of the Lithuanian Police Day. The visit of the Deputy Chief of the Polish Police was also an opportunity to thank the Polish police officers deployed to provide support to the Lithuanian police during the migration crisis.
