Commander-in-Chief of the Police awards the Secretary General of Interpol with a commemorative badge "Medal of the Centennial Anniversary of the Establishment of the State Police"

On 15th-18th October 2019, the 88th session of INTERPOL's General Assembly took place in the capital of Chile, Santiago. Polish delegation was headed by Commander-in-Chief of the Police, general inspector Jarosław Szymczyk.

The 88th session of INTERPOL's General Assembly constituted an opportunity to take important decisions concerning the composition of the Organisation's management structures. Current Interpol Secretary General, Jürgen Stock, was elected for another term of office.

Appreciating the Secretary General's personal commitment to INTERPOL's development to date, and in particular to the strengthening of its operational capacities and capabilities in such important fields as the fight against terrorism, cybercrime and organised crime, the Commander-in-Chief of the Police submitted a notion to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration for awarding Secretary General with a special badge – “Medal of the Centennial Anniversary of the Establishment of the State Police" The 88th session of INTERPOL's General Assembly became an excellent opportunity for the Commander-in-Chief of the Police to personally hand over this medal.

Secretary General Jürgen Stock has been continually emphasizing Poland's important role in the Organization's structures, both in the field of participation in important projects developed by INTERPOL and in the active use of Interpol's databases, which is reflected in the statistics of the register entries and the constantly increasing number of checks.
